Immigration Activists Join May Day Protests

This year’s May Day protest gained an added push from the Occupy Wall Street movement. Following its inception in New York last September, OWS helped organize a series of “spring trainings” and events leading up to May 1. Marchers gathered at Union Square in Lower Manhattan to prepare for a march to Wall Street in protest of the profits of large U.S. banks and corporations.
