Javier Lyonnet works in Uruguay, his home country, where he obtained his degree in Journalism at the Catholic University. He has been working as a reporter in print media and radio since 1993, in Estediario, the Third World Guide, El Observador, radio Sarandí and El País where he was the Metro Desk editor (2005-2012). In 1998 he was the first Uruguayan reporter to participate in the Alfred Friendly Press Fellowships (AFPF) program. At present he works freelance as a reporter and editor for several magazines, newspapers and websites in Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Spain. EcoAméricas collaborator since 2002.
