Podcast: The Nisman Affair
March 26, 2015 By Radio Dispatch
Latin America Radio Dispatch is a new podcast produced by Camilo Vargas, Camila Osorio and Dusty Christensen. Look for us in the iTunes store.
The shocking story of federal prosecutor Alberto Nisman is one that has rocked Argentina for months — or for decades, if you want to go all the way back to the beginning of the story.
On January 18, 2015 Nisman was found in his apartment, dead of a gunshot wound to the head. Nisman was investigating the largest terrorist attack in Argentina’s history, and was just hours away from testifying in Congress against President Cristina Fernández. Nisman’s accusations were shocking; he alleged that Kirchner conspired to cover-up Iran’s role in the 1994 bombing of a Jewish community center that killed 85 people in Buenos Aires.
In the first episode of Radio Dispatch, we sat down with one of Argentina’s most prominent nonfiction writers, Graciela Mochkofsky, who was one of the first journalists on the scene of the 1994 attack that set this mysterious tale in motion.
