Cartagena, Beyond The UNESCO Heritage Walls

Although plagued by familiar urban ailments like delinquency and high crime rates, residents of the Southeast Zone take pride in a shared sense of egalitarianism. “The people’s attitude is better,” says John Jairo Herreira, a 21-year-old rapper from La María. “Everybody is equal. Here no one is more important than anyone else.”
